Are You a Parent Looking for Help for Your Child?
If you are contacting Jasper Mountain because of serious concerns for your child, we want you to know that regardless of how difficult the situation seems right now, it is important that you not lose hope that it can improve. Even though we don’t know the specifics of your situation, we have worked with thousands of children and their parents over the last three decades and we want to support you and your child.
We do not offer false hope to parents; some challenges are much more difficult than others. We realize that many families have asked for and received professional help in the past, and it has not always resulted in improvements. We may or may not be what your child and family needs, but here are just a few comments for you to consider: We understand and have experience with very difficult children—we have never turned down a child due to level of disturbance. We know that most of the children we help are doing much better six months after treatment and are also doing much better five years after treatment than they were at graduation. We have never discharged a child due to difficult behavior in three decades.
We do not doubt that your situation is challenging, but we know the challenge of eliminating serious behavior, teaching a child to connect with family members, and helping them learn what they will need to succeed in their lives both now and in the future. Whether you and your child comes to Jasper Mountain for help or not, please stay hopeful that things can improve.
